Equestrian Ridge a 200 acre horse farm located in scenic Vinton County in rural southeast Ohio.
We are a work in progress which began in October of 2000.
Our facilities include a 10 stall horse barn with heated tackroom, bathroom,and laundry facilities. 2 outdoor arenas ( 20 by 40 meter dressage arena and a 100 by 200 jumping/dressage arena.) and a 70 by 104 ft. indoor arena.There are a number of turnout paddocks and pastures. We have a small office/apartment with kitchen and bathroom for working students. There are also wooded trails and meadows for riding.
We offer riding lessons for beginners to intermediate riders in disciplines of Dressage, Eventing, Single Driving, and Trail Riding. Our showing is dependent on the goals of students - Human or Equine . Our lesson and training program focuses on individualized attention to horse and rider, including development of a balanced seat.
Training programs are tailored to each horse using traditional, classical, and always humane principles. Striving always to encourage and build confidence and positive acceptance in the horse, whether in a young horse being worked with for the first time or in reschooling the older horse. Each horse is an individual and the care and training have to be tailored to it's unique personality in the most positive and understandable way.
We have usually between 15 to 20 horses here at any one time. Typically, trainees will number 4-5, full boarders are limited to 4 at this time. We have several riding lesson horses and many students bring their horses for the day or weekend instruction. We raise sport horses and ponies with Andalusian bloodlines and have several available for sale.
We offer custom horse back riding adventures for individuals, couples, and small groups. All rides are personalized with your goals and tastes in mind.
Camping, retreats, and in the future, we will be offering vacation cabins for horse riding/learning adventures.
